Minimalists should hit Dust and Fog , a chic vintage store focusing on neutral colors and timeless pieces. Just around the bend is the quirky, bric-a-brac—scattered Hidden Treasures , a vintage shop with an eclectic collection of clothing dating from the Victorian era to the s. Each and every morning when the sun is high, I hunt around the canyon till I find a place to lie. Traffic snakes slowly up the still-spirited Laurel Canyon Boulevard, past narrow, curving offshoots that dead-end in shaded enclaves for hilly homes, and past the nexus of the canyon, The Canyon Country Store.

Malibu Canyon Road —called Las Virgenes in some stretches—climbs through the mountains and alongside Malibu Creek, past Mulholland Highway and down a steep, winding slope to the freeway in Calabasas. This two-lane road offers glimpses of sun-streaked hills, cavernous ravines and towering peaks, but pull over to get up close and personal with the scenery and the wildlife, even if just for an outdoor movie.

A bride who nearly missed her own nuptials because of a traffic jam was saved by a team of firefighters who escorted to her wedding venue in their fire truck. Julie and her bridesmaids were walking on the side of the road, holding up their dresses so they wouldn't get muddy when the firefighters asked if they could help. Saving the day: Julie Gorman was escorted to her wedding in March by a team of firefighters after a traffic jam caused her to nearly miss her nuptials.

They explained that their limousine was stuck in traffic, and they were late for Julie's wedding to her now-husband Geof Gorman. The bride and the bridesmaids were invited onto the fire truck and given a Code 3 escort the wedding venue. A few weeks after the ceremony, Julie sent the firefighters a photo of herself posing with them in front of their truck on her wedding day. A representative for the Los Angeles County firefighters told Yahoo Lifestyle that he noticed the snapshot of the bride with her four rescuers hung up at the station this week and posted it on Instagram.

Amy posted on her Instagram Story an image of Geof and Julie holding hands at their wedding venue after her arrival. In the picture, Julie is wearing her strapless lace wedding gown and green galoshes while posing with the firefighters who came to her rescue on her wedding day. The firefighter who snapped the photo admitted to Yahoo Lifestyle that they still 'have no idea' what the bride's first name is. After the heartwarming story went viral, the Gormans' wedding photographer Amy Van Vlear shared snapshots of the unforgettable moment.

Amazing: After seeing the image hung up at the station this week, a representative for the Los Angeles County firefighters shared it on Instagram, and the sweet story went viral. She also posted photos of Julie stepping out of the firetruck in her wedding dress and rubber boots.
